Augusta Technical College Announces 2022-2023 SkillsUSA
National Leadership and Skills Conference Winners


Augusta, GA -March 20, 2023

2022-2023 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference.SkillsUSA empowers its nearly 400,000 members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens through the development of personal, workplace, and technical skills grounded in academics.

Their mission was on display at the 20222023 SkillsUSA 's National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta with more than 1200 students, advisors and businesses and industry partners in attendance. Taking place on March 9th and 10th, more than 800 outstanding SkillsUSA student competitors completed in over 85 trade, technical and leadership fields. More than 300 business and industry volunteers served as judges as competitors works to prove their expertise in occupations such as cabinetmaking, cosmetology, mechatronics, entrepreneurship and more.

As competitions took place on the 1.5 million square feet of exhibit halls at Georgia World Congress Center, more than 100 exhibitors at the SkillsUSA TECHSPO were placed alongside the national career competitions, industry best practice workshops and leadership sessions. Through SkillsUSA student leaders and ultimately, the country's talent pipeline is developed. Learn more at SkillsUSA.org.

The Georgia Postsecondary team consistently places in the top 5 in the country for medal counts. Augusta Tech’s SkillsUSA team turned in a great performance. The Augusta Tech Cougars took home 23 medals and won nine events. Mr. Jose Rodriquez was also elected as a state officer.

The gold medalists will represent Augusta Tech at the SkillsUSA Nationals on June 19th -23rd in Atlanta, GA.
