Augusta Technical College Announces Appointment of Rebecca Horecky Stout as Vice President for Economic Development


Dr. Stout's appointment will go into effect on April 1, 2022.

Augusta Technical College is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Horecky Stout as the new Vice President for Economic Development.

Dr. Stout holds an Ed.D in Educational Leadership - Higher Ed and Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She comes to Augusta from Texas with 20+ years’ experience in higher education teaching, leadership, and corporate and continuing education at both public and private institutions.

As an experienced teacher, Dr. Stout understands the needs of adult learners and nontraditional students from diverse backgrounds; as an experienced two-year college administrator, she understands the needs of technical college students, faculty, and staff, as well as the community; as an economic and workforce development professional and former business owner, she also understands the education and training needs of local and regional business, industry, and government. She has extensive experience in developing short-term training programs, creating educational pathways and securing partnerships with public and private school districts, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

“I am excited about the growth, development, and opportunities present in the CSRA and look forward to working with our community leaders to grow some fantastic new programs and opportunities with Augusta Technical College,” stated Dr. Stout.

Dr. Stout will supervise the Economic Development Division, which includes the Office of Corporate and Community Education and The Office of Adult Education.
