Augusta Technical College is excited to announce that Ms. Christine Ball, Director of Enrollment Services, has been selected for the first cohort of the Technical College System of Georgia Senior Leadership Academy.

The Senior Leadership Academy (SLA) is a professional development opportunity designed to encourage professional growth and career enhancement. The program also supports the leadership development goals of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and its 22 colleges. The SLA program is a yearlong commitment which includes eight sessions that meet for two days each.

"Augusta Technical College congratulates Ms. Ball on her acceptance and participation in this first cohort of TCSG leaders, "stated College President Dr. Jermaine Whirl. "She has been a consummate professional at our institution, and we know this program will benefit her development as a higher education leader for years to come."

Participants will meet with the TCSG Commissioner, college presidents, members of the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia, and industry partners throughout the year.

The SLA program will cover a wide variety of topics which include:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Data driven decision making
  • Budgeting
  • Student Affairs
  • Compliance
  • Workforce development
  • Legal Services

“I’m grateful to be chosen for this opportunity and to grow as a leader," stated Ms. Ball. "This program will allow me to learn additional leadership skills and qualities as well as broaden my knowledge of the Technical College System of Georgia. It’s an honor to represent my institution."
