LeAnne Lovering Appointed as Dean of Academic Affairs

Augusta, GA - April 15, 2024

Augusta Technical College is pleased to announce the appointment of LeAnne M. Lovering as Dean of Academic Affairs effective May 1.

Ms. Lovering has over 24 years in academic leadership and program management as an instructor, advisor, and department chair and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this position.

Ms. Lovering holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration degree in
Management from Augusta University. Throughout her career at Augusta Technical College, Ms. Lovering has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence and institutional advancement. She has led and served on numerous college wide committees focusing on curriculum management, strategic planning, institutional assessment, compliance, local and regional accreditation,
retention, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Among her notable achievements, Ms. Lovering served as the State Chair of the Business Technology Instructional Faculty Consortium Committee spearheading state-wide curriculum and program development efforts. She also served as the college's Quality Enhancement Plan director successfully leading QEP development and implementation committees through the Quality Enhancement Plan submission and 5-year Impact Report with SACSCOC, the college’s regional accrediting body.

Recently, Ms. Lovering played a pivotal role in working with the Center for Professional Excellence to develop the college's first Quality Matters Certified course, symbolizing excellence in online and blended course design. Furthermore, she collaborated with college leadership to develop the Business Administration, Associates of Science, transfer pathway with Augusta University.

Additionally, Ms. Lovering participated in the Inaugural Class of the President’s Leadership Institute showcasing her commitment to personal and professional development. Her extensive experience, strategic vision, and dedication to academic excellence make her the ideal candidate to lead Augusta Technical College into its next chapter of growth and success.

Ms. Lovering expressed her enthusiasm about her new role, stating, "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Dean of Academic Affairs at Augusta Technical College. I look forward to collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders to further advance the institution's mission of academic excellence and innovation."
